'Jack Survives'.
Jerry Moriarty was born in 1938 in Binghamton, NY. He earned his BFA from the Pratt Institute in 1956 and has been teaching at the School of Visual Arts since 1963. He has done freelance illustrations jobs since graduation, and additionally made abstract paintings. His work has appeared in Raw.
'Sally's Surprise'.
In addition to painting and infrequently exhibiting his work, Moriarty produced 'Jack Survives', a series of painted comic strips serialized in Raw and published as a one-shot by Raw Books and Graphics in 1984. Later projects include 'Visual Crimes' and 'Sally's Surprise', about a naughty girl in the 1950s.
Jerry Moriarty was a strong influence on Carol Swain.
