Cliff Burton, by Michel Durand
After his graphic studies, Michel Durand met Max Cabanes. Cabanes introduced him to Bruno Léandri, one of the main artists of Fluide Glacial magazine. On scenarios by Léandri and later on his own, Durand made his debut in this French magazine. In 1983 he turned to the advertising field. Two years later however, he returned to comics with 'Opération Chisteras', written by René Durand. In 1989 Durand succeeded Frédéric Garcia on the 'Cliff Burton' series (written by Rodolphe).
Gilles Hamesh, by Durandur
In 1992 he produced 'Le Griffon - Les Tranche-Jarrets', together with writer Dieter. Another series followed in 1994, when Durand teamed up with Alexandro Jodorowsky to create 'Les Enquêtes de Gilles Hamesh, Privé de Tout'. After a first story published in À Suivre, a second album appeared at Humanoïdes Associés, in 2003, as the first in the 'Polar Extrême' series. For this occasion, Durand used the pseudonym Durandur. In 1999, he drew 'Émotion de Censure' at Pictoris. Four years later, Durand produced 'Cuervos' with a script by Richard Marazano in the Grafica collection of the publisher Glénat.
