comic art by Rafa Negrete (1983)

Rafa Negrete was 23 when he came first in an amateur comics competition organized by publisher Toutain in 1981. The winning story, which was reminiscent of Moebius, appeared in Creepy. Soon after that Negrete became a regular at Toutain's monthly magazines. Apart from two isolated short stories that appeared in Comix Internacional and again in Creepy, Negrete contributed a long series of them to SF magazine 1984.

Fifteen of the tales received the generic title 'Cosm├│polis' between early in 1983 and the middle of 1984. At this point magazine 1984 was replaced with magazine Zona 84. Negrete's stories appeared in Zona 84 only now and then. The last one showed up in 1986. Rafa Negrete also carried out another career as an illustrator.
