La Grippe Coloniale, by Serge Huo-Chao-Si

Serge Huo-Chao-Si was born on the French colonial island La Réunion (in the Indian Ocean). There, he was one of the founders of the Le Cri du Margouillat magazine in 1986, along wiht Olivier Appollodorus. He studied mechanics in Lille for a while, but returned to La Réunion to study at the Saint-Denis academy. He created 'Votez Ubu Colonial', a collection of illustrations, for Grand Océan publishers. He also teamed up with Appollodorus (who uses the pseudonym Appollo) again to create 'Cases en Tôle' and 'Dans les Hauts'. At Vents d'Ouest, they started their new 'La Grippe Coloniale' series in 2003.
