Marian Henley was born in Dallas and studied art at Scripps College in California. There she first painted the two female figures who would become the heroines in her comic strip 'Maxine'. This strip made its debut in The Dallas Observer in 1981. A few years later, in 1985, Marian Henley came up with another comic, this time in color: 'The Little Bald Headed Girl'. Marian Henley now lives in Austin, Texas.
