On 19 June 1998 Galerie Lambiek opened an exhibition of the magical paintings and graphics by french artist François Avril (b. 1961). The illustrator of works such as 'Libération' and 'Phosphore' has become very popular in his home country France. Avril is a master of catching modern city life in elegant stills. His almost cartoon style evokes a frisky feeling of joie de vivre. |
