Zohoré Lassane was born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. After a short spell at the National Institute of Fine Arts, he started his career as an artistic designer for newspaper Les Sourires du Jour. In 1993, he became artistic director of the Abidjan department of international agency McCann Worldwide. He stayed there until 1999, when he switched to the new magazine Gbich!, for which he worked as editorial director. For this magazine, he created the comic character 'Cauphy Gambo', a parody of the typical businessman.
