Larry Welz

Larry Welz was born in Bakersfield, California in 1948. He got involved with underground comix in the 1960s, creating Captain Guts in 1969, a comic full of sex and violence. He made Cherry Comics in 1984, a parody series. Larry Welz moved from the West Coast to Roswell, New Mexico, where he and his wife self-publish Cherry Comics (starring 'Cherry Poptart') and created the graphic novel 'The Bird'.
