Born in Peru, Ricard Villamonte first drew for Peruvian titles like Expreso, Estampa and Escolar, before moving abroad, first to Mexico and then to the USA. There, Villamonte has drawn for several Marvel and DC titles in the 1970s and 1980s (mainly inks). He did the series 'Beowulf: Dragon Slayer' in cooperation with Michael Uslan at DC in the mid-1970s. He has done 'Spider-Man' (inks), 'Tarzan' and an issue of 'Transformers' for Marvel. He was a member of the Spanish La Floresta studio in the 1970s.
