'Dr. Atomic'.
Larry Todd was born in Buffalo, New York in 1948. He studied art at Syracuse University, and published his first comic work in Galaxy magazine. In 1967, he met another Galaxy artist, Vaughn Bodé, and created a series of oil paintings together, used as covers for Warren magazines. Todd moved to New York in 1971 to work for this company, but he soon returned to San Francisco, where he met up with the Air Pirates and was inspired by Bobby London to create a mad scientist comic character. This became 'Dr. Atomic', a comic which first appeared in The Sunday Paper.

Later 'Dr. Atomic' was published as a series of comic books. Larry Todd has also collaborated with author Harlan Ellison on a comic titled 'Chocolate Alphabet' and made 'Tales of the Armorkins' in 1971. In 1980, Larry Todd started working with Vaughn Bodé and Mark Bodé on a fantasy series called 'Cobalt-60'. Todd died in 2024, at age 76 from a long illness.
