'Goodbye Chunkie Rice'.
Craig Thompson draws comics and illustrations for Nickelodeon and Owl magazine, and DC and Dark Horse comics. His debut graphic novel 'Goodbye, Chunky Rice' won the comic industry's esteemed Harvey award for Best New Talent, and was named by The Comics Journal as one of the Top Five Comics of 1999. In 2003, he topped this success by publishing the 600-page, semi-autobiographical 'Blankets'. In an interview conducted by Michael Mechanic for Mother Jones (July-August 2014) Jules Feiffer said that he liked 'Blankets', because "these are real stories with real characters and artwork that's not like anyone else's and works like a dream."
Craig Thompson was an influence on Flix, Tessa Hulls, Bob Op 't Land, Wilfred Ottenheijm, Betje Ton and Judith Vanistendael. He also received admiration from Art Spiegelman, who sent him a letter of praise for his graphic novel 'Blankets'.
