Ibrahim Tapa was born in Biga, Turkey in 1950. After his graduation from Savastepe teaching institute, he taught in several primary schools for a short period. In 1975 he graduated from the graphic department of the Tatbiki Güzel Sanatlar Yüksek Okulu. He worked for several magazines and newspapers such as Girgir, Firt, Politika, Adam, Gün, Günaydin and Günes. His erotic caricatures were published in international magazines like Penthouse, Bravo and Hustler.
He created the comic 'Zampara Moruk', which appeared in magazine Balli Hossaf. He joined collective exhibitions in Italy, Bulgaria, England, Canada, Japan, Belgium, Iran, Israel and Cuba. His work has won him a number of awards in competitions in Turkey, Bulgaria, Italy and Yugoslavia. Besides making comics, he is interested in calligraphic arts and designing cardboard models as well.
