Jerzy Skarzynski worked in the theater world before he started drawing. Along with his wife, he collaborated on several theater spectacles. Skarzynski was always fascinated by comics, so he wrote a couple of articles about this theme in Projekt as well as L'Histoire Mondial de la Bande Dessinée. He started drawing comics in 1974. His first work was the 'Janosik' series, which was situated in the 17th century. While drawing this series, Skarzynski made a comic adaptation of Julio Cortazar's novel 'Fantômas contro los Vampiros Multinacionales'. In the 1970s, he produced 'Sans Titre', a silent comic of about 30 pages. After this work, he left the comic field and devoted himself to illustrating and his theater work.
