Antonio Rubino was one of Italy's most principal comic artists and illustrators. After earning a degree in law, Rubino turned towards a career in journalism and illustrating. His first job was illustrating the book 'L'Albatros' by Alberto Colantuoni, the grandfather of Tiberio Colantuoni. In the following years, he drew for magazines like Il Secolo XIX, Risorgimento Grafico, Il Giornalino della Domenica and La Lettura. From 1908 on, he worked for the magazine Il Corriere dei Piccoli, where he created numerous comics up until 1927.
