Born in Legazpi, Javier Roa took part in a contest for young authors held by magazine 1984 in 1980. He was among the finalists. He has published regularly in the TMEO magazine and in local fanzines. He has participated in collective projects like 'Los Felices 85' (1985) and '15 a la Vez' (1986).
