Rick Remender is a comic book artist and animator from Portland, Oregon. In the second half of the 1990s, he participated in animation projects like 'The Iron Giant', 'Anastasia', 'Titan A.E.' and 'The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle'. He also did commercial animation on The Jolly Green Giant and Willy Wonka Candy. By 1999 he was teaching Animation and Storyboard at the Academy of Art college in San Francisco. |

Remender has also done album covers and graphic design for some of the largest punk labels in the world including Side One Dummy, Fat Wreck Chords and Revelation Records. In 1999 he published his first graphic novel with Slave Labor, called 'Captain Dingleberry'. This was followed by 'Black Heart Billy' (2000) and 'Doll and Creature' (2002), published by AiT/Planet Lar. In 2001 Remender and partners Kieron Dwyer and John Estes completed production on a 12 episode web cartoon called 'Swingtown' for wildbrain.com. |

Most of 2002 was spent inking Kieron Dwyer's pencils on a 10 issue run on Marvel's 'Avengers'. Remender and Dwyer have also collaborated on 'Sea of Red' (Image Comics, 2005), 'Night Mary' (IDW, 2005) and 'XXXombies' (Image Comics, 2007). Remender illustrated the comic book adaptation of the movie 'Man With the Screaming Brain' for Dark Horse Comics (2005) and he also drew the series 'The Last Christmas', which was written by Brian Posehn and Gerry Dugan. |
