Ansis Purins was born in 1975 to Latvian refugees in Boston, Massachusetts. He has been drawing his whole life. He spent two years attending art school, but dropped out once he realized he was paying a lot of money for something he was learning to do everyday. He has been working as an illustrator a couple of years now. Apart from his illustration work, Ansis Purins is the singer in the Boston band 'Skavoovie en the Epitones'. This band has played in 46 states in the USA and 13 countries in Europe. They released five internationally distributed albums.
