Francesco Privitera was mainly active in the Italian comics field during the 1950s and 1960s. For the publisher Flaminia in Rome, he produced a large amount of funny animal comics, in a style close to Sebastiano Craveri. He was a prime artist for magazines like Frugolino, Puffi, Miciolino, Bingo and Lupettino, and developed characters like 'Polentina', 'Camillo & Giannetto', 'Tobia' and 'Il Nonno'. He eventually abandoned the comics field and devoted himself to painting. |
