Arcanes, by Roland Pignault
After an education in photography and printing, Roland Pignault got in touch with his childhood friend Fred Campoy again at the Academy of Fine Arts in Pau. Pignault stayed at the academy for only three months, but he did begin an atelier with Campoy in 1986. Pignault and Campoy began to draw for fanzines and the advertising field. They corresponded with comics artists like Cailleteau, Loisel, Vatine and Blanchard. In 1998, they eventually created the series 'Arcanes', for which they both did the artwork and for which Jean-Pierre Pécau did the writing. Campoy left the series after the first album, and Pignault drew the second on his own. The artwork was done by Bojan Kovacevic from the third album. Pignault then went to Dupuis, where he contributed to Spirou and drew the episode 'La Luxure' in Alcante's 'Pandora Box' series.
