Ofeliano de Almeida was born in 1954 in São Paulo, but raised in Rio de Janeiro. Educated in Fine Arts, he has drawn comics for horror magazines like Spektro. Together with Cynthia Carvalho, he made the newspaper comic strip 'Leão Negro' in O Globo between 1987 and 1989. The strip was also published in Heavy Metal and by the Portuguese publisher Meribérica. Later on, Ofeliano has been mainly active as a storyboard artist ('Deus é Brasileiro', 'Cidade de Deus', 'Os Normais') and illustrator.
