Une Enfance Volée
Simon Pierre Mbumbo is a comic artist from Cameroon. He started drawing comics at an early age, and left school to devote himself to making comics. He founded the journal New Kids and is one of the founders of Mac BD, a Cameroon comic magazine. He has worked for satirical journal Messager Popoli, and contributed to 'A L'Ombre du Baobab', a collection of comics by African artists about education and health in Africa, for which he created the story 'Une Enfance Volée' together with Christophe N'galle Edimo.
Mbumbo lives and works in France. He is the creator of the series 'Les K-libres' for Planète Jeunes, a magazine published by Bayard. Also with Edimo, he made the graphic novel 'Malamine', about a young African who comes to Paris. It was published by Les Enfants Rouges in 2009.
In 2015, he launched Toom Comics, an internet platform and publishing label devoted to African comics.
