Dubravko Matakovic is the leading Croatian underground active since the 1980s. He studied art at the Academy in Zagreb, and published his early works in magazines and papers like Studentskome Listu, Poletu, Mladosti, Tribuni, Patku and Vecernjem listu. Between 1990 and 2000, he drew his political comic strip 'Nedjeljnoj Dalmaciji'. During the 1990s, he also started publishing in Panorama, VOX, Smib ('Super Di') and OK ('Desmozgenes'). Much of his work has been published in books since 1986, starting with 'Sabrana Nedjela' (1986) and 'Prot pikcers' (1988).
