Craig MacIntosh studied at the University of Illinois, where he received his degree in fine arts in 1966. Soon afterwards, he faught in Vietnam for three years. Returning to his civilian life, MacIntosh started working as an editorial cartoonist for several newspapers. In 1986, he and Steve Sack created the cartoon panel 'Professor Doodles'. In 1991, MacIntosh was asked by Greg Howard to take over the artwork of his 'Sally Forth' comic strip. The "working mother" comic 'Sally Forth' is widely distributed by King Features Syndicate, drawn by MacIntosh and written by Francesco Marciulliano and Steve Alaniz.
