Born in Florence, Italy, Prosper Fiorini studied at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris, France. He went to the States and around 1906 drew cartoons for the New York World (owned by Joseph Pulitzer), signing his work with Maurice Ketten. He is the creator of the newspaper features 'Can You Beat It?' (1907-1934), 'Such is Life' and 'Poor Little Income' (1920).
