Marc le Grand, who uses the pseudonym Joub, has been "into comics" since his youth. After a holiday spent with future fellow-artists Fred and Jean-Luc Simon, the three started a comics club and a fanzine. He founded the Psurde Studios after his studies in plastic arts, where he worked with Étienne Davodeau and Fred and Jean-Luc Simon. He finally made a professional start of his comics career after completing his military service, starting with some strips for the magazine Auto-Rétro. In 1995 he founded his own advertising agency, Joub Création Graphique. Together with Davodeau, Joub created the children's comic 'Le Voyage Infernal' for publisher Magnard. Joub continued with the series 'Max et Zoé' and founding his own publishing house.
