Andrzej Janicki belongs to the somewhat older group of the present-day generation of comics artists and writers. Although, from time to time his drawings were being published in various magazines not entirely related to comics, his career as a comics artist started in 1990 when he co-created the comics magazine Awantura. The magazine ran for four issues of which Janicki was the artistic director. Through the 1990s, his short comic stories were appearing in various magazines, like AQQ (a comics fanzine), Fenix (a SF magazine), Swiat Gier Komputerowych (a computer games magazine) and in the comics anthology Czas Komiksu. Janicki writes his own stories, but he also co-operates with a number of young Polish writers. Over the years he has created his own and very recognizable style. His recent works appear in the Polish comics magazines Produkt (of which he used to be one of the editors) and Znakomiks, as well as in hardcover comics anthologies published by Egmont Poland.
