Hatem Fathy has been interested in comics since he was a kid. He used to make a one issue magazine at school and studied fine arts. He also had some experiments with animation, storyboards and magazine illustrations. His first comics ran in the Egyptian children's magazine Aladdin. Then, he started publishing in other magazines and became a free lance artist. He has contributed to some comic magazines from the Arabic world and the Middle East, including Egypt like Samir, Toot, Gernas, 8x8 and Qkids, besides some web comics. With Ahmad Alaidy, he was the the co-creator of a popular comic strips in the Al-dostoor newspaper in the first half of 2006. The main character is a young boy named 'Morchedi'. Fathy is a regular contributor to Basem and Good News Cinema.
