Charles Grigg was an artist for the comics by publisher D.C. Thomson, such as The Dandy. A versatile artist during the 1950s, he illustrated 'Sooty and his Shooter' and 'Charlie the Chimp' for The Dandy, 'Foxy' and 'Splodge, Last of the Goblins' in The Topper and 'Kat and Kanary' in The Beano. For many years, he was the artist of two of The Dandy's most popular features, 'Korky the Cat' (after the death of James Crighton in 1962) and 'Desperate Dan' (after the death of Dudley Watkins in 1969).

Other series by Grigg are 'Mary's Mighty Uncle', 'Gobble Gobble Gertie', 'Clanky the Cast-Iron Pup' and 'Kipper the Copper'. He also illustrated light adventure strips like 'The Umbrella Men' and 'The Purple Cloud'. He retired in 1983 at the age of 66.
