Milorad Dobric studied architecture but his beloved hobby was cartooning. It became his profession in 1945. He was influenced greatly by Louis Forton's 'Les Pieds Nickeles'. In 1950 Dobric got a job as political cartoonists on the humor weekly Jez in Belgrade. Very soon he became one of the top cartoonists in his field in Yugoslavia. Dobric wrote and illustrated his first published comic book in 1951. It was called 'Veliki Turnir' ('The Big Rivalry'). In 1952 'Pera Pesak' became a very popular comic strip and in 1954, Dobric created the pantomime gag strip 'Ljuba Truba'. Later work by Dobric includes the daily comic strip 'Kurir Fica' and the two very succesful comic strips 'Slavuj Glisa' and 'Inspektor Zuca'.
