In 1946, Vladimir Delac sold his first cartoon to the humorous paper Kerempuh. He soon became a member of Kerempuh's editorial staff. In 1950, Vladimir Delac produced the first Yugoslav animation film 'Veliki Miting', together with Walter Neugebauer and Bordo. In 1952, Delac finished his own cartoon film 'Revija na Dvoristu'. Comic strips were Delac's greatest love however, and his first comic strip 'Vuna Kico orasi Mico' was published in 1950. In the following years, Delac published many comic strips in Vjesnikov Zabavni Tjednik, Petko and Miki Strip. His most popular character, 'Svemirko' the little hero from outer space, was born in 1957. Some of Delac's other characters include 'Viki and Niki', 'Marina' and 'Tramvajko'. Vladimir Delac, still drawing, was very ill in 1969 and passed away a few months later.
