Solar D'Alba debuted as a humorous illustrator in Le Tutu in 1901. He subsequently illustrated for L'Illustré National, La Vie Amusante, and La Gaîté Gauloise. His comics appeared in Mes Cartes Postales, Jeudi de la Jeunesse, Les Images Pour Rire and La Vie de Garnison. During World War I, he contributed to Nos Poilus, Le Carnet de la Semaine and La Rampe. No work by him is known dating after the early 1920s.
