Janusz Christa was born in Vilnius, Poland in 1934. He started his career in comics in 1957, when his first work was published in magazine Przygoda. Janusz Christa has been a contributor to newspaper Wieczor Wybrzeza for twenty years, and especially his creation 'Kajtek Majtek', started in 1958, became very well known. Other comic titles by Janusz Christa are 'Kajko i Kokosz', 'Guzek i Roch' and 'Bajki dla doroslych'. Janusz Christa lived in the town of Sopot. He stopped creative work around 1990s due to declining health.
'Kajko i Kokosz' ('Kajko and Kokosz', 1972-1992) was a humorous historical comic series set in Poland during the Middle Ages. Christa drew and scripted the series until 1992. After that date, Maciej Kur became the main scriptwriter. In 2018 two albums were translated into French and in 2019, two in English.
