Carlo Cedroni (Pete West), born in Velletri (Rome). A self-taught artist, he started his career in 1953, drawing the westerns 'Colorado Kid' and 'Freccia Rossa' for Erre-Ci group, together with friend Annibale Casabianca. He then contributed to Romoletto (1955), Albi dell'Impavido (1958) and the SF magazine Il Pioniere (1956-1958). Between 1956 and 1964 he worked for le Éditions Aventures et Voyages in Paris on the series 'Bayard', 'Nick Barrier' ('Nic Reporter') and 'Rouletabille'. |

In Rome he drew some covers of 'Mandrake' for Fratelli Spada (1968). From the 1960s, Cedroni, with his assistant Luciano Bernasconi, worked for the Barman studios (Barbato & Mancini), that produced comics for Marcel Navarro's publishing house Lug in Lione. |

Cedroni has drawn series like 'Don Juan l'Épervier', 'Jim Lasso', 'Blek' (on which he alternated on the artwork with Jean-Yves Mitton), 'Apollon', 'Trapper John' and 'Drago', which were all published in Lug's magazines Rodeo, Hondo, Kiwi, Nevada, etc. Cedroni's final work in the comic book field was illustrating on episode of the popular Bonelli serial 'Martin Mystère' in 1988. Cedroni was a painter in the last 20 years of his life. |
