Laurent Cagniat studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Reimes for five years, followed by courses in Graphic Arts and Advertising. While studying, he began working in a studio for communication, animation and comics. He took part in several contests and appeared in a collective album about the village of Châlons-en-Campagne. From 1992 he is represented at Delcourt publishers with his own 'Vauriens' series, written by Luc Brunschwig. He is also the author of 'Pitchi Poï', together with Claude Guth.
