Before the war, Hans Brouwer mostly made children's comics, like 'Pukkeltje' in 1938. During the war, he got involved with the illegal magazine De Waarheid. For this magazine, he created in 1946 the daily 'Zeven Dagen Strip', which reflected on actual events. From 1951 until 1972, he made 'Fed en Vetertje in Priktolland'. Another memorable comic that Brouwer illustrated was 'Dirk uit Dirksland', written by Sjoerd Schwitter. |
