Rafael Boluda Vidal is a Valencian artist who has mainly worked for foreign publishers through agencies. He began his career in the mid 1950s drawing for the Valenciana collection 'Comandos'. He contributed to several serials of Editorial Maga, sucha s 'Johnny Fogata', 'Olimán', 'El Defenso', 'Flecha Roja', 'África' and 'El Libertador'. He was also present in Pantera Negra with 'Hombres de Honor' and 'El Rey Vagabundo'. |

Boluda was working extensively for the British market from the mid 1960s. From the mid-1970s through the early 1980s, he drew short series in Starblazer, as well as contributions to Battle, Thrag's Future Shocks and War Picture Library. He also did art on 2000 AD's 'Rogue Trooper' and 'Tharg's Time Twisters' in the 1980s. In Germany, he was working among others for the horror comic Gespenster Geschichten, published by Bastei. He retired from comics in 1984 and focused on painting. |
