Simon Bisley started his comics career when he signed up with the British comics company 2000 AD, where he was assigned to do comics like 'ABC Warriors', 'Sláine' and 'Judge Dredd', and stories for Crisis. His beautiful artwork attracted the attention of American comic publisher DC Comics, and the company hired him to work on 'Lobo', 'Lobo vs. The Authority', 'Batman', 'Doom Patrol', 'Sandman' and 'Swamp Thing'.

Simon Bisley has collaborated on several comics projects (often as a cover artist) for Dark Horse ('The Nail', 'Alien', 'Terminator'), Image Comics ('Mutant Earth', 'WildC.A.T.S.', 'Gen13'), Marvel ('The Hulk', 'Spider-Man', 'The Punisher'), Oni Comics ('Bad Boy') and Topps ('Jason vs. Leatherface', 'Mars Attacks', 'Star Wars') and Heavy Metal magazine.
Simon Bisley was an influence on Algésiras, Kim Jung-gi, Simon Pothier, Rafael Ruiz Gillet, Fernando Sosa and Benoît Springer.
