Kapten Grogg gets married, by Victor Bergdahl
Gustav Victor Bergdahl was the first man in Sweden to make animated cartoons. Before going into animation, he worked as an illustrator for many humorous magazines. He was inspired by Winsor McCay's 'Little Nemo in Slumberland'. He created his own animation technique, and in 1915, his first cartoon was shown in the cinemas. It was called 'Trolldryken (the magic potion) and Circus Fjollinski'. He became famous for his humorous 'Kapten Grogg' animation. Thirteen 'Kapten Grogg' animated movies were made between 1915 and 1922, and in 1923, a comic book of 'Kapten Grogg och Kalle' was published.
