Darrin Bell was born in Los Angeles, California and is the son of two teachers. Bell studied political science at the University of California/Berkeley where he was an editorial cartoonist for the university's newspaper. His award-winning cartoons have appeared in many newspapers including The Los Angeles Times, New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle and on television - 60 Minutes, MTV, CNN. Together with writer Theron Heir (a pseudonym), he created the daily strip 'Rudy Park' which was launched in 1999. In 2003, Bell had his second comic strip, 'Candorville,' about a diverse group of friends in the inner city, syndicated by the Washington Post Writers Group. |
