Glen Baxter was born in Leeds in 1944. He is known for his idiosyncratic, surreal sense of humor that fuses the absurd with a dry wit. In 1977, Baxter chose to focus his attentions on The Netherlands. In 1979, De Harmonie in Amsterdam published a collection of his drawings entitled Atlas. England, Finland, France and Australia followed in quick succession and in 1998 a major exhibition of his works was held at Modernism gallery in San Fransisco. Known as "the Colonel" to his baying legions of admirers, Glen Baxter is the author of more than twenty books including 'The Wonder Book of Sex', 'Glen Baxter's Gourmet Guide' and 'Blizzards of Tweed'.
