comic art by Tadeusz Baranowski
Comic art by Tadeusz Baranowski.

Tadeusz Baranowski studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, and started contributing to Swiat Mlodych in 1973. In 1976, his comic 'Orient Men' appeared in magazine Relax. His work caught the eye of Grzegorz Rosinski, who invited him over to Belgium to color 'Thorgal' in 1984. Baranowski did not like to be forced to draw in somebody else's style, and created his own. His 'Orient Men' was later published in Swiat Komiksu. Apart from comics, Baranowski was a painter and illustrator of children's books.

In 1987-1988 the publishing company Brain Factory International released a four-volume comic book series where Franco-Belgian comic authors visualized several songs by singer Jacques Brel in comic strip form. The fourth volume, 'J'Arrive' (1988) featured a contribution by Baranowski.

Tadeusz Baranowski was an influence on Slawomir Kielbus and Artur Ruducha
