Raiko Aleksiev was born in Pazardjik, Bulgaria. He was known as Fra Diavolo, as well as under 10 other pseudonyms. He was a writer, producer, artist and caricaturist. He published in Shturec (Cricket) on a weekly base, and was also present in Chuden Sviat. In 1944 he was murdered because of his political caricatures. His works were forbidden until 1990. Now, an avenue and a gallery are named after him. |
